The disposal of WEEE is a worrying problem because of the content of dangerous substances for the natural environment and the human health. A suitable solution is not easy-to-achieve due to the huge and ever growing volume of this kind of bulky waste, the structural complexity, the operational difficulty of separating the components and the relatively high processing cost.
A new application of HPWJ technology for the selective harmless recovery and recycle of the useful components, with particular reference to the precious metals has been envisaged by AQUAVIS as a first preparation step before submitting the material to a chemical treatment such as that studied by the 3R-Metals Company interested in a fruitful co-operation on the subject.
